Musical + puppets + Sesame Street = Total Awesomeness.

Yes, Avenue Q is a musical that began in New York while we were living there. It’s based on the extremely popular american children’s show Sesame Street, which featured lots of muppets, and revamped to offer important lessons to grown ups. Like this: (excuse the shaky camera, it chills out and while not professional, it is watchable)

In New York, when you move east past 1st avenue, you start into the aphabet, avenue a, avenue b, and so forth. After avenue d you move into brooklyn and of course rent gets a bit cheaper. I believe the actual last avenue that exists is avenue P.

There’s also a take on Ernie & Bert:

The show was written by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx. Jeff Marx and the puppet designer Rick Lyon actually worked for Sesame Street as apparently have a few of the other puppeteers. Clearly the spoofing is done with loving fondness. I mean who doesn’t love Sesame Street?

And just to post an actual well recorded vid from a british awards show

There you go, kids!
