Hungover, Expectant Father

Now i knew last night that more alcohol was flowing down my gullet than was otherwise prudent, but hey. Sometimes it happens. So i wake up this morning with the hangover i knew was coming when i went to bed last night. And of course the first thing i thought was “Please, baby, Maja, do not go into labor today.”

And thus the plight of the expectant father is illustrated. With a due date of the 15th looming

(Maja is convinced the baby is coming on the 11th. Absolutley convinced. So far she’s been right about 2 out of three predictions:

1. she would get pregant right away. It did in fact happen on our first try.

2. the baby was a boy , which was also predicted by that Healer friend of ours who gave maja’s father a new years card last new years before maja was even pregnant or we had even started to trying, telling him to have a gerat new years and rejoice, at this time next year he would have a grandson.

3. the last is her feeling she will go into labor on the 11th)

However, i cannot afford to assume this will be the case. With only about 3 weeks until doctors’ predicted due date, the fact is she could go into labor pretty much any time. Which means daddy here really cannot afford to play Russian Roulette with a hangover. That would SO suck.

Daddy was being really good, but then last night sort of crept up on him.

Daddy would also like to ask baby if he could just chill out for November 1st also, since an american friend of daddy’s knows (yes, there is another american here in belgrade) is throwing a Halloween party and Daddy would really like to go. Daddy not only want to go, but Daddy doesn’t expect to be smilery and sunny the morning after that either.

Damn. This just cannot afford to “accidentally” happen. Bloodu hell, what if she goes into labor an hour after i collapse my stinking, beer/cigarette breath in bed to sleep it off? F…….

So back to tea totalling for Daddy. Who cannot wait to see his little boy. Hopefully not on the 1st of november. (that’s TWO ones put together. 11. How are your math skills? We’ll start on fractions sometime after the 11th…)

  1. Gets more real by the day, don’t it? Personally, I’m shooting for the 14th, so we can have a joint birthday party someday. Maybe 2015 or so.

  2. Well, welcome to how she feels…I know I was dying for a beer about month 8. Sorry, no sympathy here 🙂 You will have drunken nights again, won’t hurt you to miss a few for a little while.

Guess I’m saying, suck it up, Papa. Not getting to get your drunk on is the least of your immediate challenges.

  3. When push comes to shove, the demon drink is hard woman to part with. Just think of all those happy hormones swishing around in the delivery room – post delivery of course. 14th is cool by me too, same as my sisters. Daddy can always try pressing the reflexology points if there is any tardiness.

  4. Former pregnant woman, Well i didn;t expect sympathy from YOU!!!! No, i knew the womenfolk out there just wouldn’t be shedding any tears over my plight.

Regarding the other comment, would be fine except maja WANTS the baby to be a week late so it’ll be a sagitarrius. If i hear one more debate over scorpions, i’m going to to postal. Although going postal on a pregnant woman is like calling Cthulu little pussy and throwing rocks at her. In fact, i’d RATHER throw rocks at Cthulu than pick a fight with a preggle month 9. But still, can a scorpio get some respect?
