Let me just start by thanking all of you for your outpour of congratulations and love. It has personally made my nights these past 2 nights. Last  night i called maja at the hospital and read her all of the comments and she loved them. So really, this is one of the most wonderful few days of my life, and i can’t thank you all enough for the love and support. It feels fantastic.

Oh, so y’all want to know how Maja is?

No problem. She’s fine.

There you go.

Oh wait, you wanted more?

Ooooooooooohhhh, well ya’ll ain’t gonna get much more. She’s in the hospital until Friday, which is normal. She started truly nursing today (stunned me to my bone), and is recovering nicely. the only other thing i’ll say is that she was fantastic during labor. Above and beyond anything i might have imagined, and despite the breadth and depth to which i love Maja, and it is great depth and enormous breadth, i have never loved her like i love her now.

That’s it.

We agreed in the delivery room that she would write the post that describes the delivery and these few days after. It is, really, her story to tell. She will be home on Friday. She will tell you, truly, all you wish to hear and know about how she is and the profound journey she’s been through.

Until then, i keep my respectful silence, aside to assure you all she is GREAT. GREAT. I never TRULY saw Maja as a Mama until relatively recently, but in the past few days i see that she is the only and most perfect  Mama for my baby i would ever dream of.

So,as a rather stupid bonus i have 2 little videos Maja’s brother, Milos took at 5AM driving to and arriving at the hospital. Just after 4AM i called him, wished him a good morning, and told him to wake on up, we’ll be arriving to get him in a few minutes.

He was particularly needed to take the car home. With Maja in labor, i could not possibly deal with parking the car in downtown belgrade, and then worrying about it getting payed every hour come daytime. So up he got and along he came. i would also like to mention that this occurs some time after 4:30 AM, and no one is very fresh. (there was and would be no sleep for a long, long time)

Just so it’s clear, these 2 videos are not in any way exciting or interesting. But here they are anyway, for those of you who just can’t resist.

Also, for the addicts, here’s 2 more photos:

  1. The cute! It burns!

That’s a very happy looking critter right there. Enjoying that colostrum now, mmm tasty.

  2. Aww, so sweet. I look forward to Maja’s post, but tell her she can be as lazy as she wants as long as she wants!

Have you noticed how babies smell? I love to sniff the tops of their little heads. Nathan still has that smell, when he’s not too sweaty. Like fresh bread, but not quite.

  3. We’ve both been totally tripping out on the smell. It IS like fresh baby bread. He finally got…. well, stumbled across a proper breast feeding technique today. Unfortunately i fear he may have to stumble across this technique a few more times before he actually learns it.

  4. Handling the boobses, very tricky. Best that he learns that now.
