There are more interesting posts just down the page. Personally i find ‘Baby Torture’ to be rather accurate.

For the few, the proud, who can actually deal with more pics, here they are.

We begin with the Fussy Baby Series (the story of our day)

Since little Adam has jaundice, a nurse recommended we put him in direct sunlight for as long as possible. Hence i spent a while in the early afternoon in the bedroom with him, keeping him centered in a sunbeam.

  1. Such a cutie. Interesting little Pope hat he’s got on there. Combine that with the Christlike lighting, and he’s all ready to start Adamtown.

Nathan had a touch of jaundice on his third day, but a little extra formula got him over it. Janell wasn’t producing enough milk at the time, and we were kind of in a hurry to get out of the hospital. Can’t tell now, he’s rather healthy:

  4. I’ll leave any boob stories to the wife, but suffice it to say we didn’t get a lot of time with that for stories.

And yes, that little thing you hold in your arms will one day become a kid. Requires a lot more cardio workout.

  5. If the boob is sad, make sure the latch is far enough up. The baby’s lips should be above the nipple, and the bottom lip flipped outwards. Is the baby making a swallowing “mmm” as he sucks?

And what I have heard from many midwives is; give it 10 days of solid effort before you give up. If your technique is right, but you’re still uncomfortable, your body will adjust by 10 days.

  6. Thanks for the link. The baby IS feeding and our concerns kind of change every few days. The link was good in order to address the ever changing issues. Breast feeding is very important to Maja, and the early evening feedings can be a real nightmare. All other feedings go well, but around early evening and lasting for HOURS we’ve been having some pretty fatiguing fussy-cry problems.
