Pics Tomorrow

Filed under: Uncategorized — bunitingi @ 1:10 am

Didn’t forget about y’all. Got new pics comin’ tomorrow.

Funny, despite all my bitching and moaning during the first 2 months, maja and i were talking the other day, and we both agreed that now, at 4 months old, we REALLY like him just as he is, and we would be content for him to stay like this for awhile longer.

He’s so interactive, so smiley faced, so small and holdable still, but so sometimes AWARE and present, so happy to see us, so innocent, so beautiful, so… nuggetlike… so big but sometimes so tiny. This stage he’s at is really endearing and wonderful and i could have him stay like this just a bit longer.

Especially if he could learn to fall asleep on his own. Although his appetite is WAY up, and he sleeps longer at night in between feedings. We lost a feeding somewhere in the past week or so (YAY!).

Yeah, i really like the way he is now. Sigh.

Anyway, pics tomorrow, promise.

  1. It only gets more fun! Though I miss the Squishy Baby Stage, I LOVED the “delighted to learn what things taste like” stage, and the “Hey! I can grab things and bang them!” stage. And then walking, talking, and nowadays, learning how to build things and dance (while talking, singing, and making jokes.)

We did learn a joke a few weeks ago:

    Knock Knock.
    Who’s there?
    Boo.
    Boo who?
    Please don’t cry!

This KILLS. Every time. Also funny is anything involving a funny voice, eyebrow-wiggling, and hide n’ seek. Much fun ahead for you.

  2. Oh, I have to share a kid-amuser I just learned.

Hold your hand as as a fist, thumb behind fingers. Say:

“Here is the bee-hive, where are the bees?”

    (wiggle fist a little)

“Hidden inside where nobody sees! How many bees are in your hive?”

(slowly uncurl fingers as you count)

“one two three four FIVE! BZZZZZ!!!” (tickle baby with “bees”)

One of the few useful things I ever got out of a parenting magazine.

    • I loved those. The spider one i can definitely see when he’s a bit older. (i tried it and it totally went by him. He likes wiggly fingers in general, though.)

I can’t wait for knock knock jokes. They don’t have them here and i’ve tried to demonstrate a few of them, but it’s never really had great results. Although maja loves the impatient cow one.

  3. Scottish accents. He loves ’em. And so do I.

  4. I used to make my hand into a bird, and it kept the boy mesmerized for a while.

I also have to throw in a plug for a Dr. Seuss story I guess I didn’t discover when I was a kid, called “What Was I Scared Of?” I found it in the back of a collection that includes “The Sneetches.” It’s about this guy who goes out at night to run errands, and keeps bumping into a spooky pair of pale green pants with nobody inside. It’s delightfully absurd, and the kid has it memorized.
